Saturday's newborn shoot was a joy! My friends, Thomas and Hannah, had their first baby, and I had the pleasure of photographing her at 9 days old. Alexis is so sweet and tiny! And look how alert she is, already!

Music Monday - Fredericksburg Photographer

I am, what my sister calls, a "music head". Friends have called me a music snob. Whatever you call me, I am a lover of music, and it is a huge part of my life. For this reason, I have decided to share this passion with you through my blog.

Every Monday, I will try to post a blog with songs that I currently consider an inspiration. Sometimes, as a photographer, you can find yourself in a creative rut, and a lot of times, music can help me get unstuck. Here are a few current favorites:

Custom Photography Mini Sessions in Fredericksburg and Northern VA

I'm excited to announce that Brooke Ramsey Photography will be hosting mini-sessions one Saturday in every month of 2011! They will be half-hour sessions at one specific outdoor location for an entire day. Some will be themed, while others will be very casual. They will ALL have special discounted pricing!

Custom Senior Photos - Manassas, VA

Meet Elyse. She booked me for my first "official" Senior shoot, since I've been on my own.

We were totally on the same page from the time she first contacted me, and even though we changed times and locations a few times before settling, we both ended up with the same things in mind. We decided on Old Town Manassas (right down the street from my childhood home) and, surprisingly, our meeting time was 7:30. In the MORNING. One morning, on my way to work, I could not get over how amazingly gorgeous the light was, and I wished a client would agree to an early morning session. That afternoon, I checked my e-mail, and Elyse requested that very thing. It was perfect. And I was super excited.

Elyse was the perfect model! She has an awesome personality, a ridiculously gorgeous smile, and was up for anything. She even climbed up in a tree for a few shots, later in the morning.




She shares my love of photography, so she brought along her own camera for a few shots :) I think she looks like a natural.




Elyse also plays the violin (just like I did!). I think this next one could be her first album cover.


We did some silly faces just for fun, and I think the collage is super cute! I had so much fun with this shoot, and I'm definitely looking forward to more senior sessions in the spring!

Custom Family Photography - Fredericksburg, VA - Chatham Manor

I had just had a conversation with a fellow photographer friend about how I had never done a shoot at Chatham Manor, when this sweet family requested it as our location. We planned to meet right before the sun started setting, and the light was gorgeous! I love love love the sun shining through the orange and red leaves. Fall photo shoots are awesome!

I'm a huge fan of using color and texture in my photography, and this doorstep was PERFECT.





This cute little fella met me when I arrived and continued to follow us around for the session ;)

Wedding Photography - Manassas Virginia - A&J

I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of a friend from high school this past October. She requested a shoot at the end of the day in Old Town Manassas at the train station, which I absolutely love! It was a wonderful way to end the day, and we had fun using some props for a vintage feel.
